or different symbols being used
symbol _locale_charset used from dynamic library
/usr/pkg/lib/libiconv.dylib(localcharset.o) not from earlier dynamic library
/usr/pkg/lib/libintl.3.dylib(localcharset.o)

this bug

sudo port -f uninstall libiconv
sudo port clean --build libiconv
sudo port -f install libiconv

And everyone lived happily ever after…
